 ISLAMABAD: The power shortage in the country has reached 7,477 MW. Load shedding is up to fourteen hours is being carried out in different country.


According to sources in Power Division, the power shortfall in the country has reached 7,477 MW. The total power generation is 21,223 MW while the demand is 28,700 MW.


Sources in the Power Division further said that 5,500 MW of electricity is being generated from water. Government thermal plants are generating 1,290 MW of electricity. The total output of private sector power plants is 11,000 MW.

The production from wind power plants is 900 MW and from solar plants is 122. The Bagas-powered plants are generating 120 MW of electricity. Nuclear fuel is Prepared 2,291 MW of electricity.


About to sources in the power division, load shedding up to fourteen hours is being carried out in different parts of country. The duration of load shedding is longer in areas with high losses.
