I'm going to show you how to set up a Facebook page or also known as a fan page for your organization without actually having a Facebook user profile and there are many concerns that people have about having a personal profile attached to a Facebook page.
Facebook gives the opportunity now to have a Facebook page without a personal profile. Go to facebook.com and at the bottom, you'll see a little link that says create a page for a celebrity band or business. Click on that link and it gives you several options now for most organizations. The middle one here company organization or institution is the best and you need to choose a category.
I'm going to choose Church religious organization and it set up a page for our local church called Thorold south gospel chapel. Type that in agreeing to the terms and it's going to ask you for a security check which is just simply to retype what you see now sometimes.
It's hard to see what the letters are so you can always click on try different words until you get letters that are more easily readable and if you don't get it right it tells you okay so now it's going to ask you for an email now this cannot be a generic email like info at or sales at or any of those type of generic emails.
You need to create something that's more specific and I've created one called FB admin for Facebook admin and give it a password it's going to ask for a date of birth you can pretty much put anything but it has to be at least 13 years ago because they're looking for really minors they don't want minors to put in their date of birth they're trying to catch kids from setting up these types of pages I'm just going to put January first and we'll choose 1960 as long as you remember what it is this is the only thing that's displayed and it's probably best if you want to put the start of your local church or organization as a date if it's longer than 13 years put in the security check again agree to the terms of use and privacy policy and click sign up now.
Then it's going to tell you that it sent a confirmation email to the address and you have to click on the link in order to complete the signup. So let's go over to the email that I've set up and it's already in there and I'm going to click on this link which is going to confirm and once it loads and there it is I've created a Facebook page without having a personal profile and this now is accessible and you can go in and add you know admin the page so give it some information when it was founded the address description and so on fill out all the information and use the Facebook page just like you would as if you had a personal profile.
